Update – Spring Tryout Structure & B/BB Structure
Based on feedback from the majority of its member associations, the Tri-County Minor Hockey League (TCMHL) has indicated that there is a strong possibility they will field a ‘BB’ category for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.

In alignment with this guidance, GMHA will be running tryouts under the assumption our entries will be in a ‘BB’ category.  As a point, to date we do not have official confirmation as to what the offering in TCMHL will be for the B/BB categories.

The tryout process will remain unchanged from last season. Players are required enter tryouts at AA and will follow the standard sequential release process from AA to A and then BB. Tryouts for BB will be run with no body checking, and that team will be entered into TCMHL to compete in a non-body checking season.  Should any player decide that participating in bodychecking at AA or A is not appropriate for them, we encourage you to contact the coach or Director of Rep AA-B/BB to discuss options for your player.

For more information on the renaming of B and BB categories, please see the OMHA decision and bulletin regarding the renaming of B/BB.

The decision on any potential additional teams in an age group remains unchanged and will be made through summer by the Board of Directors, considering the criteria already posted on our websiteSpring Tryout Structure & BB / B Pending Change

For full details on the tryout process, please see the GMHA Tryout Policy.
